Regular short journeys between breweries and nearby warehouses provide an excellent setting for electric vehicles because trucks can recharge as they wait.
Pioneering electric beer delivery - Carlsberg Sweden is electrifying their transport flow.
We are aiming for a net-zero value chain by 2040. This requires us to innovate everything—from how our barley is grown, to how finished brews find their way into the stores.
In Sweden, a partnership with Einride is helping us on our electrification journey.
Last fall, we extended the partnership to add eight more trucks to the fleet, bringing the total to 11 vehicles. The agreement also includes a network of charging stations at key sites.
The eight new trucks will hit the road early next year, and will contribute to approximately 7,650,000 transport kilometers in the southern and western part of Sweden that will be electrified over five years - saving almost 12,300 tonnes of CO2e compared to diesel.
"We’ve become a prime example for the rest of the Carlsberg Group, which I’m very proud of."
- Andreas Andersson
Head of Transportation at Carlsberg Sweden
