Emerging music artists from around the world have been given a once-in-a-lifetime mentoring experience with Jason Derulo, thanks to a new collaboration between the platinum selling music artist and Danish beer brand Tuborg.
The project marks the sixth year of Tuborg Open, a campaign that uses the power of music to create unique experiences for artists and fans around the world.
The mentoring experience took place in LA where unsigned artists spent one-on-one time with Jason in the studio, discussing performance, producing, song writing and what it takes to be a success in the industry. Each artist then went on to perform in front of Jason, taking the stage at The Wiltern Theatre, one of Los Angeles’ most iconic music venues.
Speaking about his involvement in the campaign, Jason Derulo said:
“There is no play book that exists in the music industry, so if you want to become a musician, you’re almost out there by yourself. But to have somebody in your corner who has been through these experiences can make a big difference. That’s what I love about this campaign. I feel like I’d have bumped my head a lot less if I’d had that kind of guidance, so I’m grateful that I can be a part of the journey these talented artists are on”.
The artists participating in the Tuborg Open project are Dee MC (India), VEK (Nepal), Shokhrullo Abdullaev (Uzbekistan), Halko (Turkey), Iva Lorens (Serbia) and Stoposto (Bosnia). Each will continue to receive support from Tuborg over the coming months as they produce and develop the tracks that they performed in front of Derulo.
VEK (Nepal), one of the unsigned artists participating in the campaign, said:
“The fact I got to sit down with Jason Derulo to not only talk about music, but to talk about my music, was incredible. He gave advice on song writing and my performance and I’ll be applying that to my process when I’m back at home”.

Since launching in 2017, Tuborg Open has worked with major music artists including David Guetta, The Chainsmokers, Major Lazer, Clean Bandit, Diplo and MØ to create new music that connects artists and fans across the globe.
During that time, chart-topping tracks have landed in over 15 countries across Asia and Eastern Europe, including hits with Toc Tien (Vietnam), Z.Tao (China), Fedez & J-AX (Italy) and Vishal Dadlani (India).
Dee MC (India), another of the unsigned artists participating in the 2022 project, said:
“I think what I’ve enjoyed most about this experience was how authentically we all connected just based on our shared love of music. It’s amazing to think that no matter which part of the world you come from, music can connect you without any boundaries. That’s what makes Tuborg Open so special.”

ABOUT TUBORG OPEN:
Tuborg Open uses music as a platform to encourage people to stay "open to more" and to step outside of their comfort zones. In the world of music, this means creating new experiences for both music fans and music artists by bringing people together from different cultures and backgrounds. The idea is that there is always something new to discover – new music, new friends, new places, new experiences.
Each year, the Tuborg Open campaign is tied together by an international music artist, whose music is used as the basis for collaboration with artists all across the world. How this has worked historically can be found below:
